The number of telephone subscribers in India increased to 706.37 Million at the end of August 2010 from 688.38 Million in July-2010, thereby registering a growth rate of 2.61 %. With this, the overall Tele-density in India reaches
59.63.
Wireless subscriber base increased from 652.42 Million in July-2010 to 670.6
Million at the end of August-2010 registering a growth of 2.79%. Wireless Teledensity stands at 56.61.
