New Zealand choked South Africa as they beat them by 49 runs. New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat. A superb 83 from Jesse Ryder took the Kiwis to 221 which courtesy a disciplined bowling effort from Nathan McCullum and Jacob Oram defended comfortably.
